Some people never say “NO”. They take too much work – and easily fall into overload situations. Taking over tries to do everything – ends up spending most of their time working for others – leaving little time for their own work.
Some people always say “NO” – which is cruel. Completing their own work on time – devotes more time to their own work and is uninterested in others. Others see them as unhelpful and avoid them wherever possible.
Both types of behavior are equally wrong – one should learn to use “NO” without being rude.
Use of “No” without being rude:
When to say “no” – do it constructively.
When asked for help – explain why you can’t answer “yes” – no excuses.
Provide alternative solutions to problems – ask questions to understand the issue if necessary.
Example:
I’m in the middle of something right now, can we discuss it later?
I can’t help you right now, but I can tomorrow.
কিছু লোক- কখনও “না” বলে না। তারা খুব বেশি কাজ নেয় – এবং সহজেই ওভারলোড পরিস্থিতিতে পড়ে। গ্রহণ করা সমস্ত কিছু করার চেষ্টা করে- শেষ পর্যন্ত তাদের বেশিরভাগ সময় অন্যের জন্য কাজ করে- নিজের কাজে অল্প সময় দেয়।
কিছু লোক সর্বদা “না” বলে – যা নির্মম। যথাসময়ে তাদের নিজস্ব কাজ সমাপ্ত করে- নিজের কাজে বেশি সময় দেয় এবং অন্যের প্রতি আগ্রহহীন থাকে। অন্যরা তাদেরকে অ-সহায়ক হিসাবে দেখে এবং যেখানেই সম্ভব এড়ায়ে যায়।
উভয় আচরণের ধরণ সমানভাবে ভুল – অভদ্র না হয়ে “না” এর ব্যবহার শেখ উচিত।
অভদ্র না হয়ে “না” এর ব্যবহার:
যখন “না” বলতে হবে- তখন এটি গঠনমূলকভাবে করুন।
সাহায্যের জন্য জিজ্ঞাসা করা হলে- আপনি কেন “হ্যাঁ” সাড়া দিতে পারবেন না – তার কারণগুলি ব্যাখ্যা করুন – কোন অজুহাত নয়।
সমস্যার বিকল্প সমাধান সরবরাহ করুন- প্রয়োজন হলে বিষয়টি বোঝার জন্য প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞাসা করুন।
উদাহরণ:
আমি এখনই কোন কিছুর মাঝে আছি, আমরা কি পরে এটি নিয়ে আলোচনা করতে পারি?
আমি এই মুহূর্তে আপনাকে সহায়তা করতে পারি না, তবে আমি আগামীকালই এটি করতে পারি।
