Public awareness is an organized array of media, messaging, and communication strategies that attempt to build public acceptance of a problem.

জনসচেতনতা হল- মিডিয়া, মেসেজিং এবং যোগাযোগের কৌশলগুলির একটি সংগঠিত বিন্যাস- যার মাধ্যমে একটি সমস্যার সমাধানের জন্য জনসাধারণের স্বীকৃতি গড়ে তোলার প্রচেষ্টা।
  • Public awareness informs the community about current issues. Public awareness draws people’s attention in such a way that information and education provided by policymakers help them take action to change.
  • জনসচেতনতা সম্প্রদায়কে বর্তমান সমস্যা সম্পর্কে অবহিত করে। জনসচেতনতা জনগণের মনোযোগ আকর্ষণ এমনভাবে  করে যে- নীতি নির্ধারকদের দ্বারা প্রদত্ত তথ্য এবং শিক্ষা পরিবর্তন করার জন্য আবেদনমূলক পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণে সহায়তা করে।

বাংলাদেশে – “জনসচেতনতা”:
  • Policymakers in Bangladesh usually resort to the blame game of “lack of public awareness” – instead of creating and implementing appropriate awareness campaigns.
  • বাংলাদেশের নীতিনির্ধারকরা সাধারণত যথাযথ সচেতনতামূলক প্রচারণা তৈরি এবং  বাস্তবায়নের পরিবর্তে – “জনগণের সচেতনতার অভাব” বলে দোষারোপের খেলা শুরু করেন।
  • Polarization – lack of proper education and guidance is an acute problem in Bangladesh – which mainly hinders the overall progress of the country.
  • মেরুকরণ- সঠিক শিক্ষা এবং পথপ্রদর্শনার অভাব বাংলাদেশের তীব্র সমস্যা- যা প্রধানত দেশের সামগ্রিক অগ্রগতিতে বাধা সৃষ্টি করে।
  • In Bangladesh – public awareness is one behind another – creating chaos, and separation instead of integration – which is very harmful to the present and future people of Bangladesh.
  • বাংলাদেশে- জনসচেতনতা বলতে একজনের পিছনে আর একজনের লেগে থাকা-বিশৃঙ্খলা তৈরি করা। একীভূতকরণের পরিবর্তে বিচ্ছিন্নতা- যা বাংলাদেশের বর্তমান এবং ভবিষৎ জনগনের খুবই ক্ষতিকারক।
  • Nation does not progress without public participation in manners, public awareness and development. Addressing these issues immediately is essential and important for Bangladesh’s long-term development.
  • শিষ্টাচার, জনসচেতনতা এবং উন্নয়নে জনসাধারণের অংশগ্রহণ ছাড়া জাতির উন্নতি হয় না। বাংলাদেশের দীর্ঘমেয়াদী উন্নয়নের জন্য এই বিষয়গুলি অবিলম্বে মোকাবেলা করা অপরিহার্য এবং গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
