Equality means giving every person the same resources or opportunities. But- due to physical and mental differences, husband and wife in different circumstances cannot perform and manage equally even if they are given the same resources or opportunities.

সমতা মানে প্রতিটি ব্যক্তিকে একই সম্পদ বা সুযোগ দেওয়া। কিন্তু- শারীরিক এবং মানসিক  ভিন্নতার কারণে,  বিভিন্ন পরিস্থিতিতে স্বামী-স্ত্রীকে  একই সম্পদ বা সুযোগ দেওয়া হলেও সমানভাবে কর্মসঞ্চালন এবং পরিচালনা করতে পারে না।

পারিবারিক জীবনে স্বামী-স্ত্রী উভয়ই অনুভব করে যে – তাদের ক্ষমতার সমান অনুভূতি এবং অধিকার রয়েছে। সামগ্রিকভাবে- সম্পর্কের ক্ষেত্রে  উভয়ের সমান বক্তব্য রয়েছে। কেউই চায় না – তার মতামতকে পাশ কাটিয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে- অথবা সে কখনই কোনো বড় বা ছোট সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে পারে  না।

• Husband and wife are never equal to each other – rather they complement each other.
• স্বামী-স্ত্রী কখনই একে অপরের সমান নয় – বরং তারা একে অপরের পরিপূরক।

Equality of Husband and Wife in Family:
পরিবারে স্বামী-স্ত্রীর সমতা:

• Equality of spouses in married life means – both partners having an equal voice in all decisions. Both partners feel that they can influence each other and complement each other, having an attitude of equality.

• বিবাহিত জীবনে  স্বামী-স্ত্রীর সমতা মানে –  সমস্ত সিদ্ধান্তে উভয় অংশীদারের সমান কণ্ঠস্বর থাকা।  উভয় অংশীদার মনে করেন যে তারা একে অপরকে প্রভাবিত করতে পারে এবং একে অপরের পরিপূরক, সমতার মনোভাব রয়েছে।

• Everyone deserves a healthy relationship. Equality in the family does not mean uniformity. Rather – it is that both will give each other freedom – to grow together.

• প্রত্যেকেরই একটি স্বাস্থ্যকর সম্পর্ক প্রাপ্য। পরিবারে সমতা মানে- অভিন্নতা নয়।    বরং- এটা হল যে  দুজনেই একে অপরকে স্বাধীনতা দেবেন  – একসাথে বেড়ে উঠবেন।

• In family life – there is no such thing as equality – but there is a bottom line. Both partners in a relationship need to respect each other as equals in being human beings.

• পারিবারিক জীবনে – সমান বলে কিছু নাই – কিন্তু একটি বটম লাইন আছে।   সম্পর্কের ক্ষেত্রে উভয় অংশীদারকে মানুষ হওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে একে অপরকে সমান হিসাবে সম্মান করতে হবে।

• Overall, equality and mutual satisfaction are important in family life — for both partners. So- to lead life through mutual compromise and sacrifice, without unilateral manipulation and pressure or self-indulgence.

• সামগ্রিকভাবে, পারিবারিক জীবনে সমতা এবং পারস্পরিক সন্তুষ্টি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ — উভয় অংশীদারের জন্য। সুতরাং- একতরফা কারসাজি এবং চাপ সৃষ্টি  না করে অথবা নিজে না পড়ে, নিজেদের মধ্যে সমঝোতা  এবং  ত্যাগের মাধ্যেমে জীবনটা পরিচালনা করা।

• Importantly, everyone feels free to communicate regularly about relationship balance.

• গুরুত্বপূর্ণ যে- প্রত্যেকে সম্পর্কের ভারসাম্য সম্পর্কে নিয়মিত যোগাযোগ করার স্বাধীনতা অনুভব করবেন।

• Understanding the difference between a relationship built on mutual respect versus control, and learning more about how to create equality in the relationship—helps husbands and wives build healthy relationships together.

• পারস্পরিক শ্রদ্ধা বনাম নিয়ন্ত্রণের উপর নির্মিত সম্পর্কের মধ্যে পার্থক্য বোঝা এবং সম্পর্কের মধ্যে সমতা কীভাবে তৈরি করা যায় – সে সম্পর্কে আরও শেখা-  স্বামী-স্ত্রীর একসাথে স্বাস্থ্যকর সম্পর্ক গড়ে তুলতে সাহায্য করে।

• Husbands and wives deserve to be in a healthy loving relationship—that allows them to be free. Consciousness works well in both husband and wife participation in household chores, child care, and decision making.

• স্বামী-স্ত্রী  সুস্থ পারিবিরক সম্পর্কের মধ্যে থাকার যোগ্য- যা তাদের  মুক্ত হতে দেয়। স্বামী-স্ত্রীর- গৃহকর্ম, শিশু যত্ন এবং সিদ্ধান্ত উভয়ের গ্রহণে অংশগ্রহণের ক্ষেত্রে সচেতনটা ভাল কাজ করে।

আপনি যদি এমন কাউকে জানেন- যাদের “সমতা সমস্যা” আছে; তাদের ব্যাপারে হস্তক্ষেপ করবেন না-  তাদেরকেই  তাদের  সমস্যার  সমাধান করতে দেওয়া ভাল।
