• Teachers are like parents – Teachers must be given the same respect as young people respect their parents. Today’s students insult teachers- they are not given the respect they deserve.

Reasons Why Bangladeshi Students Do not Respect Teachers:

• In Bangladesh – the reason why students don’t respect teachers is because of – a lack of proper education – resulting in the degradation of the morals and values of students. Lack of family and institutional education is responsible for this.
• In Bangladesh – without proper education – due to political party affiliation and business-mindedness of teachers – students do not respect teachers.
• In Bangladesh – Unfair recruitment trade results in qualified people not getting into teaching. Not taught in class – students showing poor results if not studied privately is also a reason for disrespect.
• Parents are giving mobile phones and iPads to their children before they start studying. They don’t have time to teach respect to elders – love to children. Parents are making money in dishonest ways and showing it – this is what children are learning. Students don’t respect parents – how to respect teachers?
• In Bangladesh – extreme anarchy is going on in educational institutions. Under the shadow of teachers – students are bullied. When teachers are disrespected by students – in the absence of legal recourse – teachers are harassed and humiliated instead of respected.
• Teachers stay away from teaching – this is what happens when coaching politics is powerful. Where education has no value – it is natural that teachers are not respected by students.
• In short – Education in Bangladesh is being systematically destroyed slowly – it is bad for the individual, community, society and the country – isn’t it???

• শিক্ষকরা হলেন পিতামাতার মতো – তরুণরা  পিতামাতাকে যেমন সম্মান করে  শিক্ষকদেরও  অবশ্যই একই সম্মান দেওয়া উচিত। আজকের ছাত্ররা শিক্ষকদের অপমান করে-  তাদের প্রাপ্য সম্মান দেওয়া হয় না।

যে কারণে বাংলাদেশি ছাত্ররা শিক্ষকদের সম্মান করে না:

• বাংলাদেশে – ছাত্রদের শিক্ষককে সম্নান না করার  কারণ হল – সঠিক শিক্ষা না দেওয়া – ফলে শিক্ষার্থীদের নৈতিকতা ও মূলবোধের অবক্ষয় হয়েছে। এর  জন্য  পারিবারিক এবং প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষার অভাবই  দায়ী।
• বাংলাদেশে – সঠিক শিক্ষা না দিয়ে – শিক্ষকদের রাজনৈতিক দলীয় লেজুড়বৃত্তি আর ব্যবসায়িক মনোভাবের কারণে – শিক্ষার্থীদের শিক্ষককে সম্নান করে না।
• বাংলাদেশে – অনুচিত নিয়োগ বানিজ্যের ফলে উপযুক্ত লোক শিক্ষকতায় আসছে  না।   ক্লাসে পড়ানো হয় না- প্রাইভেট না পড়লে ছাত্রদের রেজাল্ট খারাপ দেখানোও  সম্নান না করার কারণ।
• বাবা-মা – লেখাপড়া শুরু করার  আগেই ছেলেমেয়েদের হাতে মোবাইল ফোন, আইপ্যাড ধরিয়ে দিচ্ছেন।  বড়দের সম্মান করা- ছোটদের আদর করা – শেখানোর তাদের সময় নাই। বাবা-মা অসৎ  উপায়ে  টাকা কামিয়ে সেটা দেখিয়ে বেড়াচ্ছেন- ছেলেমেয়ে তো তাই শিখছে। ছাত্ররা বাবা-মায়েদেরই সম্নান করে না -শিক্ষককে সম্নান করবে কিভাবে?
• বাংলাদেশে – শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে চরম নৈরাজ্য চলছে। শিক্ষকদের ছত্র-ছায়ায় – ছাত্ররা গুন্ডামি করছে । শিক্ষক ছাত্র দ্বারা অসম্মানিত হলে – আইনি ব্যাবস্তার অভাবে – শিক্ষকরা সম্নানের পরিবর্তে হয়রানি এবং লাঞ্চিত হচ্ছেন।
• শিক্ষক  শিক্ষা দেওয়া থেকে দূরে থাকেন – কোচিং রাজনীতি পাওয়ারফুল হলে এরকমই হয়। যেখানে শিক্ষার কোন ভ্যালু নেই-  সেখানে ছাত্রদের দ্বারা শিক্ষকের সম্মান না পাওয়াটাই স্বাভাবিক।
• মোট কথা  – বাংলাদেশে শিক্ষাব্যাবস্তা পদ্ধতিগত ভাবে ধীরে ধীরে ধ্বংস করা হচ্ছে – এটা ব্যাক্তি, সম্প্রদায়, সমাজ এবং দেশের জন্য অশনিসঙ্কেত – তাই নয় কি ???
