Signs of Unhappy Marriage:

• Feeling dominated by another partner: For example, I always tend to have the last word in a discussion. However, in a conflict situation, both partners should feel free to express themselves without feeling dominated by the other. Rather than shutting down your partner when they say their opinion, use it to get to know them better. Remember, the goal is not to win an argument but to achieve mutual understanding without showing anger.
• Spousal Inequality occurs when one’s dominance exceeds the other partner’s needs:- Power imbalance between spouses leads to inequality in the relationship, leading to a guilt/blame game.
• Minding your way:- One partner always has to do the housework, and the other partner pays for every meal out. Even if unintentional, this behavior is abusive and makes the relationship unequal.
• All decision-making by one partner: – If you are not sure whether you are dominating the decision-making in the relationship – ask yourself these questions –
  • Am I the only one who decides who will do the housework?
  • Am I the only one who decides which friends we hang out with?
  • Am I the only one who always decides when we have sex?
• Always refuse to compromise when a partner disagrees:- Sometimes, it is normal to disagree. Each partner must be willing to compromise without competing with the other’s needs. The point is – one person’s opinion is not more important than another’s.
• Expecting one partner to pay for everything:-  In a relationship, both partners should be willing to share the costs. It is perfectly fine if one partner wants to pay for most things, but it is time to reevaluate your behavior if you expect your partner to produce and are uncomfortable doing so.

অসুখী দাম্পত্যের লক্ষণঃ

• অন্য অংশীদার দ্বারা আধিপত্য অনুভব করা:- উদাহরণস্বরূপ, আমি সর্বদা একটি আলোচনায় শেষ শব্দটি রাখি। যাইহোক, একটি সংঘাতপূর্ণ পরিস্থিতিতে, উভয় অংশীদারকে অন্যের দ্বারা আধিপত্য অনুভব না করে নির্দ্বিধায় নিজেকে প্রকাশ করা উচিত। আপনার সঙ্গী যখন তাদের মতামত বলে তখন তাকে বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার পরিবর্তে, তাদের আরও ভালভাবে জানার জন্য এটি ব্যবহার করুন। মনে রাখবেন, লক্ষ্য যুক্তিতে জেতা নয়, রাগ না দেখিয়ে পারস্পরিক বোঝাপড়া অর্জন করা।
• স্বামী-স্ত্রীর বৈষম্য ঘটে যখন একজনের আধিপত্য অন্য সঙ্গীর চাহিদার বেশি হয়:- স্বামী এবং স্ত্রীর মধ্যে ক্ষমতার ভারসাম্যহীনতা সম্পর্কের মধ্যে অসাম্যের দিকে নিয়ে যায়, যা একটি অপরাধবোধ/দোষের খেলার দিকে পরিচালিত করে।
• নিজের উপায়ে চিন্তা করা:- একজনকে সবসময় ঘরের কাজ করতে হবে এবং অপর সঙ্গী বাহিরে প্রতিটি খাবারের জন্য অর্থ প্রদান করবে। অনিচ্ছাকৃত হলেও এই আচরণ আপত্তিজনক এবং সম্পর্ক অসম করে ।
• সমস্ত সিদ্ধান্ত একজন অংশীদার দ্বারা নেওয়া :- আপনি যদি নিশ্চিত না হন যে সম্পর্কে সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে আধিপত্য করছেন কিনা – তাহলে নিজেকে এই প্রশ্নগুলি জিজ্ঞাসা করুন –
  • আমি কি একাই সিদ্ধান্ত নেই কে ঘরের কাজ করবে?
  • আমি কি একাই সিদ্ধান্ত নিই যে আমরা কোন বন্ধুদের সাথে আড্ডা দেব?
  • আমি কি একাই সবসময় সিদ্ধান্ত নিই কখন আমাদের সেক্স হবে?
• সঙ্গী কোনকিছুতে অসম্মতি জানালে সবসময়  আপস করতে অস্বীকার করা:- কখনও কখনও, দ্বিমত হওয়া স্বাভাবিক। প্রতিটি সঙ্গীকে অন্যের প্রয়োজনের সাথে প্রতিযোগিতা না করে  আপস করতে ইচ্ছুক হতে হবে। মূল কথা হল- একজনের মতামত অন্যের চেয়ে বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নয়।
• একজন অংশীদার সবকিছুর জন্য অর্থ প্রদান করবে প্রত্যাশিত করা:- সম্পর্কে, উভয় অংশীদার খরচ ভাগ করতে ইচ্ছুক হতে হবে। যদি একজন অংশীদার বেশিরভাগ জিনিসের জন্য অর্থ প্রদান করতে চায় তবে এটি পুরোপুরি ঠিক আছে, তবে আপনি যদি আপনার সঙ্গীর উত্পাদন আশা করেন এবং এটি করতে অস্বস্তি বোধ করেন তবে আপনার আচরণের পুনর্মূল্যায়ন করার সময় এসেছে।
