1. Directing the last Stage: At this stage- you lose your existing identity, relationship, location, and network (in Bangladesh). In Bangladesh, you know which doctor to go to and which neighbor will look after your house – when you are away from home. Transition begins with the end, where you must let go of old things. The new place (Canada) will not be like the old one (Bangladesh). 2. Directing Neutral Stage: At this stage, your old stuff is gone after arriving in Canada, but the new stuff that’s about to come isn’t yet in effect. You are in a state that is neither old nor new. Don’t try to avoid the neutral position, which creates confusion and jeopardizes the transition. The neutral stage is the best opportunity to create and develop your needs. Here, you are letting go of yesterday’s worries and preparing yourself for tomorrow. 3. Starting Afresh: In this phase, you have to develop new identities, experiences, positions – and discover the concept of complete purpose in the new environment.
