Reasons Why Bangladeshi Youth Prone to Crime:

• Neglect of Parents: As a result of parents’ indifference, neglect, torture and anti-social behavior towards their children, the youth of Bangladesh are becoming prone to violence and crime.
• Political Polarization: Political polarization is pushing youth attitudes towards ideological extremes. Political parties in Bangladesh are using youth as cadre/muscle men for their benefit which inspires youth to commit violence and crime.
• Inadequate Education System: Lack of proper education and qualified teachers in Bangladesh, inappropriate education system and inadequate educational materials are leading to depression among the youth. Inadequate education, unemployment and social exploitation are driving youth to violence and crime.
• Social Polarization: Social polarization is creating divisions within the society. Income inequality, and economic displacement have created social group differences between high-income and low-income people. Social polarization in Bangladesh is encouraging young people to commit crimes by fostering a fearsome mentality of heroism and exuberance.
• Unequal Rights: Deprivation is a significant contributor to rising crime. As the youth of Bangladesh are deprived of their basic rights, they are resorting to violence and crime.
• Drug Abuse: Due to lawlessness in Bangladesh, youths are doing criminal activities by abusing drugs and breaking the law.
• Peer Pressure: Young people want to feel accepted and valued by their friends. In Bangladesh, peers pressure them to commit illegal acts, such as hurting someone, using drugs, etc., so young people are committing crimes that they themselves have never committed before.
• Lack of Protection in Society : Lack of protection comes from insecurity, anxiety, instability and uncertainty. Insecure youth in Bangladesh are constantly doubting their own intelligence. As a result, young people who lack protection are harming themselves and harming others.
• Misuse of Technology: Addiction to technology leads to restlessness, boredom, tension and anger in the youth. It impairs the development of relationships and hinders emotional development by creating a lack of empathy. Misuse of technology is leading to lack of purpose, boredom, sleeplessness, social isolation, violence and crime in the youth of Bangladesh.

বাংলাদেশী তরুণ-তরুণীদের অপরাধ প্রবণ হওয়ার কারণ:

• পিতামাতাদের অবহেলা: পিতামাতার ছেলেমেয়েদের প্রতি উদাসীনতা, অবহেলা, নির্যাতন এবং অসামাজিক আচরণের ফলে বাংলাদেশের তরুণরা সহিংস এবং অপরাধপ্রবণ হয়ে পড়ছে ।
• রাজনৈতিক মেরুকরণ: রাজনৈতিক মেরুকরণ তরুণদের মনোভাব মতাদর্শগত চরমের দিকে ঠেলে দিচ্ছে । বাংলাদেশের রাজনৈতিক দলগুলো তাদের সুবিধার জন্য তরুণদের ক্যাডার/পেশীর লোক হিসেবে ব্যবহার করছে যা তরুণদের সহিংসতা এবং অপরাধ করতে অনুপ্রাণিত করছে।
• অপর্যাপ্ত শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা: বাংলাদেশে সঠিক শিক্ষা এবং যোগ্য শিক্ষকের অভাব, অনুপযুক্ত শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা এবং অপর্যাপ্ত শিক্ষা উপকরণের কারণে তরুণদের মনে অবসাদ নিয়ে আসছে।  অনুপযুক্ত শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার ফলে বেকারত্ব এবং সামাজিক শোষণ তরুণদের সহিংসতা এবং অপরাধ করতে উদবুদ্ধ করছে।
• সামাজিক মেরুকরণ: সামাজিক মেরুকরণ সমাজের মধ্যে বিচ্ছিন্নতা তৈরী  করছে। আয় বৈষম্য, এবং অর্থনৈতিক স্থানচ্যুতির কারণে উচ্চ-আয় এবং নিম্ন-আয়ের মানুষের মধ্যে সামাজিক গোষ্ঠীর পার্থক্য তৈরী করেছে । বাংলাদেশে সামাজিক মেরুকরণ তরুণদের বীরত্ব এবং উচ্ছ্বাসের ভয়ংকর মানসিকতা বাড়ায়ে অপরাধ করতে উৎসাহিত করছে।
• অসম অধিকার: বঞ্চনা ক্রমবর্ধমান অপরাধের উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদানকারী। বাংলাদেশের তরুণরা তাদের মৌলিক অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত হওয়ায় তারা সহিংসতা এবং অপরাধের আশ্রয় নিচ্ছে ।
• মাদকের অপব্যবহার: বাংলাদেশে আইন অব্যাবস্তার জন্য তরুণরা মাদকের অপব্যবহারের করে  এবং আইন ভঙ্গ করে অপরাধমূলক কাজ  করছে ।
• সহকর্মীর চাপ: তরুণরা তাদের বন্ধুদের দ্বারা গ্রহণযোগ্য এবং মূল্যবান বোধ করতে চাচ্ছে ।  বাংলাদেশে সহকর্মীরা তাদের বেআইনি কাজ অন্যায়ভাবে কাউকে আঘাত, মাদক  ব্যবহার ইত্যাদি করার জন্য চাপ দেয়, তাই তরুণরা অপরাধমূলক কাজ করছে যা তারা নিজেরাই  আগে কখনও করেনি।
• সমাজে সুরক্ষার অভাব : সুরক্ষার অভাব, অনিরাপদ, উদ্বেগ, অস্থিরতা এবং অনিশ্চয়তা থেকে আসে। বাংলাদেশে অনিরাপদ তরুণ  ক্রমাগত তাদের নিজস্ব বুদ্ধিমত্তা নিয়ে সন্দেহ করছে । ফলসরূপ, সুরক্ষার অভাব হওয়া  তরুণরা  নিজেকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ এবং অন্যদের  ক্ষতি করছে ।
• প্রযুক্তির অপব্যবহার: প্রযুক্তির আসক্তি তরুণদের অস্থিরতা, বিরক্তি, উত্তেজনা এবং রাগের দিকে নিয়ে যায় । সম্পর্কের বিকাশকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত এবং  সহানুভূতির অভাব তৈরি করে মানসিক বিকাশকে বাধাগ্রস্ত করে। প্রযুক্তির অপব্যবহারের ফলে বাংলাদেশের তরুণদের উদ্দেশ্যের অভাব, একঘেয়েমি, নিদ্রাহীনতা, সামাজিক বিচ্ছিন্নতা, সহিংসতা এবং অপরাধ করতে উৎসাহিত করছে।
