Universities offer various types of academic higher education. The purpose of higher education is to develop learning skills and knowledge. Higher education is not about acquiring certificates. Proper education and its implementation is the backbone of improving our behavior. Bangladesh’s higher education is lagging far behind international standards.
No doubt – Bangladeshis have lost morality and momentum. It is essential to correct and improve it through proper education. Otherwise – we will be in trouble in this world now and in the next. Not only that – the next generation will also be in dire straits in this world.
Reasons for Declining Quality of University Education in Bangladesh:
Quality of university education in Bangladesh is declining. Due to corruption and poor quality of education, youth of Bangladesh are receiving bad lessons from parents, teachers, society and politicians and are suffering severely.
Unfortunately, most of the public and private universities in Bangladesh have commercialized their services. Seeks money, pays less attention to quality education such as research, innovation and contribution to society.
Most universities in Bangladesh have favored political cadres rather than students, polarizing with personal, family ties, and political alliances.
Statistics show that more than 47 percent of highly educated youth in Bangladesh are unemployed and looking for jobs. This is adverse and worrisome for the overall progress of Bangladesh.
Swedish economist said that educated unemployed are like nuclear bombs for the nation and the country – they can be exposed and exploded at any time. Now – families, society and government need to take this matter seriously for the future development of the people and country of Bangladesh.
Universities in Bangladesh are not ensuring appropriate and effective teaching, support, assessment and learning opportunities for their students. Teachers are promoted to provide and manage jobs without formal management training – an ominous sign for the future.
বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বিভিন্ন ধরনের শিক্ষনীয় উচ্চ শিক্ষা প্রদান করে থাকে। উচ্চ শিক্ষার উদ্দেশ্য শেখার দক্ষতা এবং জ্ঞান বিকাশ করা। উচ্চ শিক্ষা মানে সার্টিফিকেট অর্জন নয়। সঠিক শিক্ষা এবং তার বাস্তবায়ন আমাদের আচরণের উন্নতির মেরুদণ্ড। বাংলাদেশের উচ্চশিক্ষা আন্তর্জাতিক মানের তুলনায় অনেক পিছিয়ে রয়েছে।
সন্দেহ নেই – বাংলাদেশিরা নৈতিকতা এবং গতি হারিয়েছি। সঠিক শিক্ষার মাধ্যমে তা সংশোধন এবং উন্নত করা অতীব দরকার। অন্যথায়- আমরা এই পৃথিবীতে বর্তমান এবং পরবর্তী সময়ে সমস্যায় পড়ব। শুধু তাই নয় – আগামী প্রজন্মও এই পৃথিবীতে কঠিন সমস্যায় থাকবে।
বাংলাদেশে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার মান হ্রাসের কারণ:
বাংলাদেশে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার মান নিম্নগামী। দুর্নীতি ও নিম্নমানের শিক্ষার কারণে বাংলাদেশের তরুণ-তরুণীরা পিতামাতা, শিক্ষক, সমাজ এবং রাজনীতিবিদদের কাছ থেকে খারাপ পাঠ পাচ্ছে এবং মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হচ্ছে ।
দুর্ভাগ্যবশত, বাংলাদেশের অধিকাংশ সরকারী বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তাদের সেবাকে বাণিজ্যিকীকরণ করেছে। অর্থের সন্ধান করে, গবেষণা ও উদ্ভাবন এবং সমাজে অবদান রাখার মতো মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষার প্রতি কম মনোযোগ দেয়।
বাংলাদেশের অধিকাংশ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ব্যক্তিগত, পারিবারিক সম্পর্কসহ, রাজনৈতিক জোটের সাথে মেরুকরণ করে ছাত্রদের পরিবর্তে রাজনৈতিক ক্যাডারদের সুবিধা প্রদান করেছে।
পরিসংখ্যান দেখায়- বাংলাদেশে ৪৭ শতাংশের বেশি উচ্চ শিক্ষিত তরুণ-তরুণী বেকার, চাকরি খুঁজছেন । এটি বাংলাদেশের সার্বিক অগ্রগতির জন্য বিরূপ এবং উদ্বেগজনক।
সুইডিশ অর্থনীতিবিদ বলেছেন- শিক্ষিত বেকাররা জাতি এবং দেশের জন্য পরমাণু বোমার মতো- তারা যে কোনো সময় উন্মোচিত ও বিস্ফোরিত হতে পারে। এখনই – বাংলাদেশের জনগণ ও দেশের ভবিষ্যত বিকাশের জন্য পরিবার , সমাজ এবং সরকারকে এই বিষয়টিকে গুরুত্ব সহকারে নেওয়া দরকার।
বাংলাদেশের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলো তাদের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য উপযুক্ত ও কার্যকর শিক্ষাদান, সহায়তা, মূল্যায়ন এবং শেখার সুযোগ নিশ্চিত করছে না। আনুষ্ঠানিক পরিচালন প্রশিক্ষণ ছাড়াই শিক্ষকের চাকুরী প্রদান এবং পরিচালনায় উন্নীত করা হয় – যা আগামীর জন্য অশনি সঙ্কেত ।
